How to use glass glue
    Glass glue is a material that bonds and seals various glass materials and other substrates. The main components are sodium silicate and acetic acid and organic silicone. It is the most frequently used adhesive in decoration. Washbasins, bathroom toilets, shower rooms, bathroom cabinets, etc. are all needed for installation. There are many varieties of glass glue on the market. Most of the glass glues are marked with the material to be bonded, and some of them are marked with different bonding strengths. When using, there are some things to pay attention to.

Glass glue use steps
    Remove moisture, grease, dust and other contaminants from the surface of the joint. If necessary, clean the surface with a solvent, and then wipe off any residue with a clean cloth to make it thoroughly clean and dry. Cover the surface near the interface with plastic tape to ensure that the sealed work lines are perfectly tidy. Cut the hose nozzle, install the tip tube, and cut it according to the size of the joint at a 45° angle. Then install a caulking gun and hold the rubber at a 45° angle along the gap to ensure that the compound is in intimate contact with the surface of the substrate. When the seam width is greater than 15 mm, it is necessary to apply the glue repeatedly. After the glue is applied, the surface is trimmed with a knife to remove excess glue, and then the tape is torn off. If any stains can be removed with a damp cloth.

Glass glue sticking time and curing time
    The curing process of the glass glue is developed from the surface inward. The silicone drying time and curing time of different properties are different, so the surface must be repaired before the glass glue is dry. Among them, acid glue and neutral transparent glue should generally be within 5~10 minutes, and neutral variegated glue should generally be within 30 minutes. If you use color separation paper to cover a certain place, after applying the glue, be sure to remove it before the skin is formed.
    The curing time of the glass glue increases with the increase of the bonding thickness. For example, the acid glass glue of 12 mm thickness may take 3 to 4 days to solidify, but within about 24 hours, the outer layer of 3 mm has been solidified. If the glass glue is partially or completely closed, the curing time is determined by the tightness of the seal. In all kinds of bonding occasions, including sealing, the bonding effect should be thoroughly checked before using the bonded equipment.

Glass glue storage method
    If you buy a glass glue, don't rush to use it, or use it after you have left it, then you should pay attention to it and keep it for later use. The glass glue should be stored in a cool, dry place, below 30 °C. Good quality acid glass glue can ensure effective storage period of more than 12 months. Generally, acid glass glue can be stored for more than 6 months. Neutral weathering and structural glue can guarantee the shelf life of more than 9 months. If the bottle is open, it should be used in a short period of time; if it is not used up, the bottle must be sealed.
